'New help' for pensions fund trustees
A new initiative is aiming to give pensions fund trustees the benefit of expertise from both the Pensions Management Institute (PMI) National Association of Pensions Funds (NAPF), it has been revealed.
Later this year, the two organisations will team up to host a conference in London with the aim of helping trustee members meet the challenges they are likely to face in the coming months and years.
Among the areas of focus for the experts set to speak at the conference will be issues surrounding how best to fund the various kinds of pensions scheme and how to manage them most effectively.
PMI chief executive Vince Linnane said: "This conference will provide both lay trustees and professionals with the ideal opportunity to gain the very latest information on key policy issues with practical guidance from the industry's experts.
"The combined expertise of the PMI and NAPF will ensure it's a first class event."
A recent poll carried out by the NAPF found that regulatory issues were the most common concern for pension scheme operators in the UK.
