Connery tops celebrity pensioner poll
The original James Bond, Sean Connery, can still turn heads at the age of 75 having been voted Britain's sexiest male pensioner, according to a new poll.
More than half of the voters for pension provider Virgin Money's poll picked out the Scottish star as the best-looking despite being old enough to draw a state pension.
X-Men actor Patrick Stewart proved that at 64 he is not past it either coming second in the poll with 19 per cent and Silence of the Lambs star Anthony Hopkins picked up third place at the age of 68.
For the ladies, 60-year-old Helen Mirren took 21 per cent of the votes to top the sexiest female pensioner list and former Bond girl Honor Blackman aka "Pussy Galore" made second place at the grand old age of 78.
Jason Wyer-Smith, from Virgin Money Pensions, said: "Although most of our retirements won't be quite as glamorous as these celebrity pensioners, thinking about your retirement plans sooner rather than later will help you to live your life to the full after you've given up work.'
The basic state pension is available for British men to draw at age 65 and for women at age 60, although this will be raised to age 65 by 2020.
