Don't stop saving lightly, says finance expert
A personal finance expert has urged British consumers to make sure they do not stop or reduce their savings contributions without trying all they can to maintain them.
Anna Sofat from the wealth management firm Addidi has aimed to highlight the importance of saving for retirement as often as possible.
"What I would say is don't skip on long-term savings, they're for your retirement," Ms Sofat remarked.
"Don't cut it back lightly because it's very difficult to take up savings again and get onto that ladder," she added.
Ms Sofat went on to suggest that people who feel they are not able to save for retirement should assess the details of their finances and to seek out a way to make any contributions they can.
The comments come soon after a report from Sainsbury's Bank revealed that more than a third of British consumers count themselves as being unable to afford retirement savings.
