More women adding to pensions
An increasing number of women across the UK are adding to a pension pot, according to recent research.
Figures compiled by HSBC have shown that over the course of the past three years the proportion of female Britons saving for retirement has risen from 37 per cent to almost 54 per cent.
The data also shows that considerably more women claim they are not saving for retirement because they are too young, while a third suggested their salary does not allow them to set money aside.
Ian Martin, head of UK retirement businesses at HSBC, said: "Our research is very encouraging, in that it shows women are increasingly taking control of their own retirement planning."
Meanwhile, a report from American Express recently suggested that almost a third of all British adults are failing to find time to properly research their retirement saving options.
