Over 50s set to 'get in the groove'
Millions of people aged over 50 are set to get into the groove by joining the crowds and some of this year's biggest music festivals, it has been revealed.
Contrary to the popular perception, a sizable proportion of music festival crowds have passed the half-decade mark but are still happy to get into the swing of things, according to Alliance & Leicester.
However, given the considerable expense of attending such an event, the financial services firm has urged over-50 festival goers to make sure that their efforts at saving for retirement are not negatively affected.
"Attending gigs and festivals like Glastonbury can make a significant dent in the finances so it's important for people to look for ways to make their money stretch further, particularly over the summer months," said Emma Walkley, Current Account Manager at Alliance & Leicester.
The Glastonbury Festival gets underway today (June 27th) and a number of pensioners will be taking to the stage, including Leonard Cohen and Neil Diamond.
