People 'should shop around for best annuity deals'
People should take time to seek out the best annuity deals, a firm has advised.
According to Saga, an increasing number of pension providers are introducing "arbitrary postcode ratings" for payments, people saving for retirement may be interested to hear.
The company has therefore released a free guide to help consumers navigate the "pensions annuity maze".
Saga said: "The guide is designed to de-mystify annuities and retirement income options by giving information on the variety of choices available and in what circumstances they may be suitable."
It went on to state that there are thousands of options available to choose from.
In other pension news, the Association of Consulting Actuaries recently called on the government to act so that the private sector can afford to continue providing "quality" pension schemes.
It suggested that without bringing in a new so-called "middle way" option that allows firms to cap costs, most employees will be moved into defined contribution schemes.
